Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Mindful Media Network LLC ("Mindful Media," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit joinhalo.dev (the "Site"). It applies only to this Site, not to any separate Halo product, service, or application, which is governed by its own terms and privacy notice.
1. Who We Are
Mindful Media Network LLC is the controller of personal information collected through this Site. We are based in Santa Monica, California, USA. You can reach us about privacy at contact@joinhalo.dev.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
When you submit one of our forms (hosted by Airtable), we collect the information you choose to provide. Depending on the form, this may include:
| Form | Information collected |
|---|---|
| Early Access | Name, email address, and optional details about you, your product, its development stage, your priorities, your team size, and anything else you choose to share. |
| Join Our Team | Name, email address, and optional details about your background, the type of involvement you're interested in, your current role and organization, relevant work, and how you heard about us. |
| Contact Us | Name, email address, topic, and your message. |
If you email us (for example, at an @joinhalo.dev address), we receive your email address, message, and any information you include.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our analytics provider automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, and the dates and times of your visits. We collect this using cookies and similar technologies (see below).
3. Cookies and Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data, including a pseudonymous identifier and your (typically truncated) IP address. We do not use the Site to serve advertising or to build advertising profiles.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Because there is no consensus standard for "Do Not Track" signals, the Site does not currently respond to them.
4. How We Use Information
- To respond to your inquiries and communicate with you;
- To evaluate and process early-access requests and expressions of team interest;
- To send you information you requested or updates about Halo (you can opt out at any time);
- To operate, maintain, analyze, and improve the Site;
- To protect the security and integrity of the Site and prevent abuse; and
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
5. Legal Bases (EEA/UK Visitors)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (for analytics cookies and to receive updates); our legitimate interests (to respond to your inquiries, operate and secure the Site, and understand its use); and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined under California law). We disclose information only as follows:
- Service providers. We use trusted vendors who process information on our behalf, including Airtable (form submissions and storage), Google Analytics (usage analytics), Vercel (website hosting and server logs), and Cloudflare (DNS and email routing).
- Legal and safety. When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Mindful Media, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy — for example, to maintain our early-access and contact records and to communicate with you — and as required for legitimate business or legal purposes. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed, or upon a valid request to delete it.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect the information we collect, and we rely on the security practices of our service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information: to access it, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of marketing messages, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (note: we do not sell or share personal information).
California (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to request access to or deletion of their information, to request correction of inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
EEA/UK (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@joinhalo.dev. We will respond consistent with applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
10. International Visitors
We are based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
11. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults and businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at contact@joinhalo.dev and we will delete it.
12. Third-Party Links
The Site contains links to third-party websites, including mindfulmedia.org and the Mindful Media Foundation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the updated version on this page.
